The PAM cpdUNLIMITED 2024 was recently held on 13 January 2024 at the PAM Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The CPD talks were organized by the PAM Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Committee with the support of 21 speakers from 12 PAM Committees and Subsidiaries.

It was the fourth time PAM organized cpdUnlimited, making it a highlight and flagship event of the PAM CPD calendar. The cpdUnlimited 2024 was successfully launched by PAM President Ar. Abu Zarim Abu Bakar, accompanied by PAM CPD Committee Chairman Ar. Rien Tan and Co-chairman Ar. Choo Heng Huat. The President also officiated the launch of the enhanced CPD registration/ attendance platform, the Design Lecture Series (DLS), and Open Mic Night 2024. In the launching speech, the President highlighted that cpdUnlimited caters to the needs of architects and professionals, ensuring they remain alert and updated with the latest information, knowledge, and skill set.

The theme for this year cpdUnlimited was ‘MULTI-STORIES’, in which the speakers shared their stories formally or casually, about successes and failures. Through the medium of storytelling, members and participants were excited and motivated to gain new experiences and knowledge.

In his opening speech, the Convener pointed out that the theme went beyond being a mere collection of words; it was also a call to action. The stories delivered were more than narratives; they represented a collection of wisdom, challenges overcome, and lessons learned by architects for the betterment of the profession. The topics covered in the sharing included liberalization of services, sustainable development goals, the new urban agenda, dispute resolution, duty of care, digital solutions, social media, etc.

One of the sharing sessions, led by Ar. Rushdina entitled ‘Amplifying Architecture Brilliance: Unleashing the Power of Social Media,’ delved into the intersection of the digital age and the architectural industry. She discussed how architects can leverage social media platforms to share insigh1ul articles, case studies, and industry updates, thereby elevating and promoting the architectural profession. Participants actively engaged in discussions and spontaneously contributed to creating compelling content related to architecture.

This year, cpdUnlimited received a significant number of registrations, totalling 217 from members, non-members, and students. The event concluded with an extended duration for the questionand-answer session, reflecting the enthusiastic participation of attendees. The participants expressed satisfaction and eagerly anticipated the upcoming PAM CPD events in 2024 and the next iteration of cpdUnlimited.
