The Edge Malaysia-PAM Green Excellence Award is an effort to recognise property developments that demonstrate designs that are sustainable, innovative and outstanding while contributing positively to the community.

The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards started in 2003 with The Edge Malaysia Top Property Developers Awards and has since expanded over the years to include The Edge Malaysia-PAM Green Excellence Award, The Edge Malaysia-PEPS Value Creation Excellence Award, The Edge Malaysia Affordable Urban Housing Excellence Award together with The Edge Malaysia Outstanding Overseas Project Award which was introduced in 2019.

The call for entries for the Award was opened on Monday, 23 May 2022 and closed on Friday 24 June 2022. Five entries were shortlisted for the final judging.

Judging Process
Site visits were held as part of the final judging process on 29, 30
August and 1 September 2022. The Architect & Client were given
20 minutes to present their respective project with another 10
minutes of question & answer session. The jurors were then taken
around the building for an hour for a closer and detailed assessment.

Judging Criteria
The criteria for assessment were as follows:
Innovation;
Design Excellence;
Sustainability;
Relevance to the Community;
Implementation; and Cost E ciency

RESULTS: The Edge Malaysia – PAM Green Excellence Award 2022
Award Winner: 1 Lasam
Jury Citation: The building epitomises the spirit of sustainability agenda and movement, deftly balancing environmental concerns with societal and economic needs. Architecturally, the usage of environmentally-sound low maintenance materials coupled with the inventive design composition is an excellent example of how to conceive a great green building. It’s a humble green building with a heart for the owner, occupants and the surrounding community.”
Honorable Mention: Menara Affin
Jury Citation: The building represents a good example in green technology adoption, implementation and design approach despite the overall fully glazed building form. Its CSR in opening up the building for the enjoyment of the community, even to non-customers, has won the jurors’ hearts.
The Award Ceremony was held on Tuesday, 1 November 2022 at Shangri La Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with The Edge Malaysia Property Excellence Awards 2022.
