Swinging 60's

The thematic exhibition on the Evolution of Malaysian Architecture now held at the PAM Centre takes us to selected parts of Malaysian architectural history giving us an overall experiential experience of Architecture in time and context. For example, the theme on Ancient Malaysian Architecture at Level 6 (right) brings us to Malaysian architecture two thousand years ago which has been lost in memory but forms an essential part of the historical narrative.

Ground and Levels 1,2,3 themes are based on the milestones in the evolution of PAM from its genesis in the founding of SSA (Singapore Society of Architects) in the 1920s to IAM (Institute of Architects of Malaya) in the 1930s. FMSA (Federation of Malaya Society of Architects) during post-WWII, and PAM (Pertubuhan Akitek Malaya) in the 1960s.

Level 5 (above) is where GBI office is located and it carries the theme of sustainability. The exhibition synergizes with the spaces and atmosphere of the PAM Centre which is a GBI Platinum Green Building. It is intended that visitors ought not just experience the exhibits but also the building and its details.
